The founding member of the band said he has ‘no fear’ as he prepares to battle the disease, but asked for prayers

Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down informed his fans on Wednesday that he was just recently diagnosed with phase 4 cancer and the band will need to cancel their trip while he battles the disease.

” I’ve got some not-so-good news for you today,” the 46-year-old stated in a video he posted to his Instagram.

The Mississippi native described that he got taken a look at a health center after feeling ill a couple of weeks back, and he was detected with clear cell renal cell cancer “that had metastasized into my lung.” Arnold said he has “no fear, I actually all the best am not scared of it at all.”

He noted that his medical diagnosis would, however, force the band to cancel their trip this summertime.

” And we’re sorry for that,” he stated. “And I ‘d like for you to raise me up in prayer every possibility you get.”

Referencing the band’s 2008 song “It’s Not My Time,” he said he prepared to go listen to the appropriate piece of music.

God loves you. We like you.

“Thanks for all the memories so far,” Arnold added in the caption of his video. “Now, I believe ‘This Is Not My Time’ is truly my song. It’s going to be a battle so we need prayer warriors! Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. We love you all!”

The band 3 Doors Down formed in the mid-1990s and included Arnold, Chet Roberts, Justin Biltonen, Chris Henderson and Greg Upchurch.

Original member Matt Roberts died of an alcohol overdose in 2016.

According to TMZ, Arnold wrote one of the band’s biggest hits, 2000’s “Kryptonite,” while he was still in high school.

He is the only founding member of the band still in the band.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common type of kidney cancer, and according to the Cleveland Clinic, it affects twice as many men as women.

It can develop for no reason, but smoking, being overweight, high blood pressure and kidney disease can be contributing factors, per the outlet.
